Nottingham, UK: Up-and-coming Nottingham boxer, Jack ‘The Machine’ Mantell, spoke today of his hopes for his British Middleweight title fight in September. Already European Boxing Federation (EBF) English Super Middleweight champion, Mantell told of his excitement to be making his Nottingham Motorpoint Arena debut on 29th September.
Mantell is being sponsored in his title fight by DSR Tax Refunds, a dedicated firm of tax preparation experts based in Nottingham, who specialise in aiding clients to maximise their tax rebates

He spoke of his gratitude for their sponsorship, which is enabling him to train at his highest capacity by affording him access to specialist diets and trainers. Mantell added that he would not be able to take part in such a title challenge without their support and said that it was “thanks to DSR I am able to train like a professional boxer”. DSR Tax Refunds founder David Redfern told how his sponsorship of Jack was one of the many ways that he liked to give something back to the local community, adding that it was “an honour to be able to support local sportspeople to be able to fulfil their full potential”.
Mantell, 25, who grew up in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, said that it felt “amazing… to be stepping into the same ring as fighters such as Carl Froch, I get goosebumps thinking about it,” after an incredible boxing journey, which has seen him take on a British title challenge after only one year of fighting. Revealing how boxing has changed his life for the better, he spoke of his troubled teenage years, which saw him going off the rails as he struggled with ADHD, and credited boxing with bringing self-discipline and respect to his life. He also paid respect to his partner and young family including a 6 week old baby daughter, who he says have helped him find his feet and work towards a more positive future.
Jack faces Sam Godfrey of Derby in his EBF British Middleweight title challenge at the Motorpoint Arena on 29th September.
